Fui a Ocean City, New Jersey con mis primas Sarah and Bridget y mis tíos.

And the Winner Is...
On October 7, 2010, the winner of the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize for literature was announced. The award went to Mario Vargas Llosa, a famed - and sometimes controversial - Peruvian-born author. He has written articles, novels, and even plays. His first book, La ciudad y los perros, which was published in 1963, criticizes Peruvian society and military. In English, it is titled The Time of the Hero. It is so controversial that it sparked a book burning in his home country shortly after its publication. Most of Llosa's works are fictional but have underlying political messages. His later works represent more of a historical fiction style. Some of his other books (and their publication dates) Conversación en la catedral (1969) and La guerra del fin del mundo (1981). Both of these novels were translated into English versions a few years after their original publications. These examples are just a few of his achievements as a writer.
His political writings possibly reflecting upon his later decisions, Llosa even ran for president of Peru (but lost) in 1990.
The announcer of the award reads that Llosa was given the award "for his cartography of structures of power and his trenchant images of the individual's resistance, revolt, and defeat."
